Body of Texas school teacher found by her 5-year-old daughter

A Texas man allegedly murdered a beloved school teacher and left her bullet-riddled body behind for her 5-year-old daughter to find, local police said. Shereena Ann Webster, 36, was murdered on August 18th in her home while her daughter was in another room. Police say her ex-boyfriend Erik Rivas, 32, shot her and fled, according to records. 10-foot alligator caught in Mississippi breaks state record

A 10-foot, 2-inch-long alligator was captured and killed by gator hunters in Mississippi earlier this week. The female alligator was estimated to be 75 to 100 years old. Not only did she break a state record, the alligator tied with a previous world record for the longest free-ranging wild female alligator, which was caught in Florida in 1984.

‘Mass evacuation’ in Duncan, Arizona after monsoonal rains cause Gila river to overflow

Early Monday morning the water levels of the Gila River reached a point where water began to spill into portions of Duncan. The Duncan Valley Rural Fire District said. “At that time, the Fire District was requested to assist in an evacuation of the areas in the flood plane, east of the Ranch House.” Monsoon storms hit all weekend across Arizona, Colorado, Utah and New Mexico dumped as much as 8 inches of rain.

Paul Pelosi avoids more jail time as he pleads guilty to one count in DUI case

Paul Pelosi, the multimillionaire husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and causing injury on Tuesday in connection to drunk driving charges back in May. The plea agreement includes a jail term of five days, however Judge Joseph Solga noted that he already had credit for four days, two from actual time served and two for conduct credits. The remaining day will be covered by an 8-hour work program.
